The next time you dine at the Orbit restaurant in Auckland’s Sky Tower, think of the 50 tonne of Jensen Steel above your head.
The Sky Tower mast head was manufactured by Jensen Steel, assembled at the company’s factory and disassembled for transport to Auckland where it was taken to its lofty heights piece by piece in the lift – that’s the same lift you use to access the restaurant and viewing platform today.
